Timpo “Set of Lead War Ships”

I have spent a few hours researching this set & i cannot find anything about it, so if anybody out there can help, it would be very much appreciated.

There are battle ships & submarines all made of lead. A couple of the submarines have thier masts broken.

The box is a bit of a mystery as well, due to the lid having a picture of aircraft stuck on, but i think this is a copy of an old picture. The base, inner card & stringing, as far as i can tell is original.

The question is, is it Pre-War or Post War!! I think Pre-War.
